Vandal POP: Characters

Vandalynn

Vandalynn was born to The great artists Bachus and Arena, and her family home was destroyed in the great white out event of 1998. She left home at 13 and trusts only those she teaches. She is the de-facto leader of the vandal pop crew, though others in the group, like the charismatic Kyro, believe she invites trouble and has too volatile a temper to lead them. She believes in the goodness of the world, if only people could stop calling her crazy and let her show them how to fight the evil power of the white outs. She is a goofball when she needs to get out of a hairy situation and knows how to make the cops laugh.

Nokturn

The name Nokturn comes from the word nocturnal. She is a dreamer who dreams during the day, and stays awake at night. She is forever helping others, even if her love and sensitivity for everyone else's issues makes her vulnerable. She stay awake at night thinking about all the trouble of her crew. She isn't great at solving problems but she is a good listener and always is first with advice, even if that advice often can't help the situation much. She likes to read late at night and loves books on fantasy from long ago, with witches and dragons. She wishes she could be a strong dragon rider. She comes lives for a full moonlight, and will only come out and do her art when the moon is full. Her art is blue purple and black streaks and marks and incoherent words of her own making. She is quite lively when she paints as it only happens when the moon is full. Vandalynn brought her into the crew and taught her how to paint. Vandalynn told Nokturn she might have special powers of being able to see the future, and often asks her for advice, hoping Nokturn can help her in her battle with The White Out gang who destroy the art the crew makes to make the city "safer."

Kyro

Vandalynn brought Kyro into the gang when he was only 8. now 12, he forges his own path, often taking the boys with him to do his own work on the walls. He is a born leader, but out of respect for Vandalynn he always defers to her will, which he often doesn’t agree with. on sundays, you will find him walking alone on the beach in the early morning, looking for shells, and wishing he was older and able to make his own crew in a different city. He yearns for a day when he can lead a new crew and make the biggest murals in the world on his own terms. his artistic ability is unmatched and much of his work is so good that the white outs leave it up out of respect, which of course bothers Vandalynn immensely.

Slader

Slader befriended Inkz who brought him into the crew. Inkz used to come down to the skate park and watch Slader skate while he tagged the bowls up. Then they got kicked out of the skatepark together because Inkz wasn't supposed to be tagging the bowls, and Slader never looked back. He is a rowdy punk, and thinks he is a bigger cat than he really is. But boy is he loyal. Vandalynn keeps him in the crew because he will do anything she tells him to do, even though he is likely to get them all in trouble one day with his antics. Once he speedskated into a grocery store and knocked down all the merchandise. He is handsome and he knows it, but he has a lot of growing up to do still. Hopefully he doesn't get into much trouble on his journey to becoming a pro skater. His art is more stylish and flowing, he likes lots of new colors, and neons, he doesn't take it as seriously as the others but he has his own style no one can copy.

Not a bad bone in his lanky squid shaped body. He tags in places no one can squeeze into. He does tricks on his shoes no one dares do, he just bounces around from one wall to another. He likes to hum tunes and dance special moves he makes up, and doesn't give a hoot who hears him and who copies his funny style and shoes. He is a showman, filled with hot silly air that carries his mood high - his energy is contagious. He wants everyone to smile, and he will try to make you happy even if it makes you hurt laughing. Brought into the crew from Vandalynn who found him late one night humming to the frogs down by the river where he almost got caught by the police for disturbing the peace. Was painted into existence in the mural world by CatmanDo, the great muralist from Nigeria. He left his home at 10, is the oldest of the crew at 14, but he still looks and acts 9, and his dream is to sing michael jackson songs at madison square garden. He gets quiet and Super serious when he talks about it, he wants it more than anything in the world.

Precious thinks for a full hour about what she is going to wear in the morning, and when she paints she wears pink gloves so she doesn't get paint on her hands. She likes attention, but is a bit shy, so you may not know it. You will frequently find her smiling and playing with her hair. Though others think she is conceited (she might be), she doesn't say anything bad about anyone, does not gossip, and always wishes the best for everyone. She never likes to get in trouble, so she only paints during the day on walls where she is allowed to paint on. She goes to sleep early, and has fantastic pajamas. Nokturn brought her into the gang when she was 6, she is now 11. She found her wandering alone at the beach at sunset. She was likely painted into existence by San Simeona from Madrid. Preshess yearns to find out where she came from, but for today, she will just choose another outfit and enjoy the moment. She has a talent for perfect sentences and perfect color combinations with her outfits, and others often seek her fashion advice. The boys in the gang think she is too girly and so they rarely talk to her. Nokturn is thankfully her friend, as Vandalynn doesn't see the point in keeping her in the gang except she is a goodie goodie and sometimes that helps with the authorities.
